About the Show

Aladdin is a stage musical based on the beloved Disney film of the same name. Debuting in 1992 to positive reviews and commercial success, Aladdin, the 31st animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series, featured voice talent by Robin Williams, Gilbert Gottfried, and Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon), among others.

The soundtrack includes such well-known songs as "A Whole New World," "A Friend Like Me," "Prince Ali," and "One Jump Ahead." The Broadway musical version includes those hits as well as music that didn't make it into the film, including the song "Proud of Your Boy," all written by Alan Menken (Newsies, Little Shop of Horrors) with lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice. The new book and lyrics are by Chad Beguelin (Elf, The Wedding Singer), and the Broadway production is directed by Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon, Spamalot). Get your Aladdin tickets today to see this masterpiece come alive on stage.

Plot Synopsis

While Jafar, the evil Grand Vizier to the sultan of Agrabah, is attempting to get a magic lamp from the mysterious and dangerous Cave of Wonders, he discovers that only a "Diamond in the Rough" can retrieve it. When Princess Jasmine tires of the palace life and retreats, disguised, into the streets of the bazaar, she discovers the "street rat" Aladdin, who is being pursued for theft. Jafar sends Aladdin into the cave to retrieve the lamp, and when he becomes trapped, the genie of the lamp breaks them out.

While Jafar tries to arrange a marriage between himself and Jasmine, Aladdin uses Genie's help to try to woo her himself, but as "Prince Ali." When Jafar discovers that Aladdin has the lamp, he sends his parrot, Iago, to retrieve it. The new master of the lamp, Jafar uses Genie's magic to become more powerful and take control of the palace. Get your Aladdin tickets to see how our hero overcomes the odds to save Jasmine and all of Agrabah from Jafar's clutches.
