About Rob Zombie
While hearing him sing Alice Cooper songs in the second grade, people knew Rob Zombie was different. Little did they know. Writer, producer, director, metal god Rob Zombie has made a three-decade-long career out of his differences and major league contributions to both the metal and horror genres.
Born Robert Bartleh Cummings of Haverhill, MA Rob Zombie was the first born of his family with younger brother Michael David Cummings, also known as Spider One from Powerman 5000, being the youngest. Rob Zombie first began his career in the band White Zombie, originally a noise rock band following the style of Sonic Youth. Rob Zombie began experimenting with lyrics that were disjointed from reality often covering taboo topics about the undead - something virtually unheard of in the 80's. White Zombie would produce hit after hit with a total of five studio albums, two of which went 2x platinum. They were nominated for four Grammy awards for the singles Thunder Kiss '65, More Human Than Human, I'm Your Boogieman and the album Astro-Creep:2000. Due to artistic differences and multiple lineup changes, White Zombie broke up in 1998 opening the floodgates for Rob Zombie's solo career and the future popularity of Rob Zombie tickets.
Zombie's first solo project was a collaboration with fellow shock-rocker Alice Cooper for the X-Files soundtrack. The song earned them a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance in 1996 and skyrocketed sales of solo Rob Zombie tickets to the top that same year. In total, Rob Zombie has released four solo albums, Hellbilly Deluxe, The Sinister Urge, Educated Horses, and the most recent, Hellbilly Deluxe 2 in 2010. He has contributed to over forty sountracks for films, TV shows and video games. As the Grammy nominated founder of White Zombie and director of grindhouse classics House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects, Zombie has always had a twisted sense of humor. On his blog recently he posted that he just wrapped on a very scary TV commercial for Woolite. Who knows what to expect from this master of terror? He also created successful remakes of the cult classics "Halloween" and "Halloween II."
Rob Zombie concerts always include elements of horror - with goulish creatures, macabre costumes, and an all around dark sense of doom. Will the brave souls who buy Rob Zombie tickets be pleasantly horrified? Or traumatically terrified? Don't worry - Rob Zombie would want it that way!
