About the New York Giants
Founded in 1925, the New York Giants are one of the oldest franchises in the National Football League. The Giants are one of the most decorated franchises in the league as well, qualifying for the playoffs 31 times in franchise history, and appearing in five Super Bowls -- and winning four.
New York's history is rich with NFL legends as well. Bill Parcells led the Giants to their first two Super Bowl victories in 1986 and 1990 -- and spawned one of the most successful coaching trees of all-time. Parcells' staff included future Super Bowl winning coaches Bill Belichick and Tom Coughlin, as well as Romeo Crennel, Al Groh and Charlie Weis.
Coughlin led the Giants back to the NFL's elite. The Giants pulled off one of the biggest upsets in Super Bowl history, stunning the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII, ruining New England's bid for a perfect season. The Giants went on to win the Super Bowl again four years later -- again thwarting Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and the Patriots.
The Giants haven't made the playoffs since they last won the Super Bowl in 2011 -- but Big Blue is ready to make another deep run in the playoffs.
