About the Show:

Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella is a musical that was first written for television as a vehicle for a young Julie Andrews. It was originally broadcast in 1957, with a remake starring Lesley Ann Warren in 1965, and a memorable, racially diverse version released in 1997, starring Brandy, Whitney Houston, Bernadette Peters, Jason Alexander, Whoopi Goldberg, and Victor Garber. Memorable songs from the score have included "The Prince is Giving a Ball," "Impossible; It's Possible," "Do I Love You Because You're Beautiful?," "Ten Minutes Ago I Saw You," and "In My Own Little Corner."

The 2013 Broadway production features a revised book by Douglas Carter Beane (Lysistrata Jones, The Little Dog Laughed), staple songs from the previous productions, and some other Rodgers and Hammerstein tunes. Tapped for the original cast were Laura Osnes (South Pacific, Bonnie and Clyde) as Cinderella, Santino Fontana (Sunday in the Park with George, Billy Elliot) as Prince Topher, Victoria Clark (The Light in the Piazza, Titanic) as the Fairy Godmother, Harriet Harris (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Cry-Baby) as the Stepmother, as well as Marla Mindelle (Sister Act) and Ann Harada (Avenue Q).
