Based on the 2004 novel of the same name (plus an "s"), Peter and the Starcatcher is a play with music that chronicles the backstory of Peter Pan. It is a prequel to J.M. Barrie's classic novel Peter and Wendy, and explores how Peter became the boy who refused to grow up. There are some other familiar faces, too, including Tinker Bell and the gang that would become known as "The Lost Boys." This energetic play features an ensemble of 12 actors who portray more than 50 characters in spirited scenes along Peter's odyssey. An orphan boy named Peter, his group of fellow orphan boys, and his sweet and sophisticated friend Molly embark on a voyage from a shady port in Old England across the dangerous sea. Aboard their ship, the Never Land, is a locked trunk that contains "the greatest treasure on earth." But nobody seems to know exactly what is in the mysterious vessel. Knowing that it must be amazing, several people move it from a safe, guarded cabin to a shipful of pirates and beyond.
