It only looks like Jerrod Niemann has been on the scene for a few years but his presence in country music spans this past decade and includes co-writing credits on three Garth Brooks singles and two independent albums before the release of his major label debut Judge Jerrod & the Hung Jury and the hit single What Do You Want.
Niemann started practicing his craft much earlier than that, penning his first songs at age 8 and performing them at age 10 in his home state of Kansas and plying his trade at Texas bars and nightclubs. In 2010, he was signed to Brad Paisley’s label and released his first number one under his own name, Jerrod Niemann Lover, Lover after which Jerrod Niemann tickets became a hot item.
With his star rising, Niemann will hit the road with fellow up and comer Lee Brice on the Higher Education tour this spring and Brad Paisley's H2O II: Wetter and Wilder tour this summer. The video for Jerrod Niemann Lover, Lover was nominated for the 2011 CMT Music Awards' USA Weekend breakthrough video of the year, and Niemann recently recorded a live version of What Do You Want at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville solidifying his status as a country star in his own right. Niemann is in the early stages of composing a sci-fi musical replete with booze, blondes and a stretch-limo-pick up truck.
