About Celine Dion
A true rags to riches story, Celine Dion gives strength and resilience to her adoring fans with her booming voice and heartwarming story. Raised in a family consisting of fourteen children, Celine grew up in an impoverished Charlemagne, Quebec. A French-speaking child, Celine Dion began singing at a piano bar her parents owned; after hearing his sister's crystalline voice, Jacques Dion sent Celine's soon-to-be manager and husband Rene Angelil a sample of her voice. He immediately mortgaged his home towards her first record - La Voix du bon Deiu.
After a few years of mediocre success in the French speaking world, a Michael Jackson performance inspired Rene and Celine to revamp her image and she began singing in English. Unison, her 1990 breakthrough album into the English speaking world, featured soft rock tracks like "The Last to Know" and "Where Does My Heart Beat Now," which eventually reached number four on the US Billboard Hot 100. Fans didn't realize how valuable Celine Dion tickets would be until the release of her Academy and Grammy Award winning song "Beauty and the Beast" featured on the Disney blockbuster and her self-titled album. This ballad would define Celine's style for the next decade and assured audiences that Celine Dion concerts would always be awe-inspiring. Other songs off the album include favorites like the Patti LaBelle cover "If You Asked Me To."
After the announcement of her relationship with her manager, The Color of My Love produced her first number one hit in the US -"The Power of Love" and her breakthrough track in Europe - "Think Twice". It was in the mid nineties that Celine Dion received criticism for the "crowd-pleasing ballads" present in her music despite the fact that she had become one of the best selling artists in the world. Falling Into You, her 1996 release combined African chanting, synthesized effects and a full orchestra on known tracks such as "All By Myself," "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" and the number one hit "Because You Loved Me." In one of the most successful Celine Dion tours to date, the Falling Into You Tour marked Dion as a superstar.
It was in 1997 that Celine released her signature song - "My Heart Will Go On" which was featured on the commercially successful film Titanic. The Let's Talk about Love album also included guest vocals from artists like Barbra Streisand, The Bee Gees, Carole King and the late Luciano Pavarotti. After record sales skyrocketed, Celine Dion launched yet another outstanding tour and Celine Dion tickets were as good as gold. Toward the end of the 90's Celine Dion released two more bestselling albums- These are Special Times (a Christmas album) and All the Way...A Decade of Song before her three year break.
After the birth of her son Rene, Celine Dion's style matured during 2002's A New Day Has Come and although fans welcomed Celine's return, critics weren't so enchanted. In a surprise turn around, Celine shifted gears for 2003's release of One Heart, a dance album that garnered comparisons to Cher's 80s style. Her second comeback album, the sentimental Miracle received lukewarm reviews forcing Ms. Dion to shift gears once again for the French speaking album 1 Fille & 4 Types delving away from her diva image. Celine Dion ticket and record sales topped off in extraordinary numbers in 2004 earning her a Chopard Diamond Award from the World Music Awards.
Inspired by Cirque Du Soleil O in Las Vegas, and her recent decline in sales, Celine Dion Las Vegas tickets went on sale for a four-year run at The Colosseum with the highly choreographed and visually stunning "A New Day." This break in studio releases would prove to be just the right medicine as people, once again, scoured for Celine Dion Las Vegas tickets, which were always sold out! In 2007 D'elles, a French album, topped the Canadian Album charts at number one and Taking Chances, an English speaking album, which featured Yuna Ito and Ne-Yo. She indeed took chances with this pivotal release but a successful Celine Dion tour proved to be all the risk she needed.
