About Capital One Arena

Capital One Arena, originally the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. has been nicknamed the "Phone Booth" for its association with phone companies. The arena opened in 1997 in Washington's Chinatown as the $200,000 sports and entertainment facility The MCI Center.
