Pakistan and South Africa have had precious little to celebrate on the world sports stage. Fortunately for them, there's cricket. Though only a few countries even understand the rules of the game, cricket's pedestrian pace and tongue-twisting vocabulary have thrilled crowds in the former British colonies like nothing else. Many parallels still exist between cricket and its mutation, American baseball. These similarities include the heroic batsmen, universal disdain for umpires, and copious quantities of beer in the crowd.
