About the American League Championship Series

The American League Championship Series (ALCS) determines the winner of the American League pennant. That winner goes on to play the winner of the National League Championship Series(NLCS) in the World Series. The first ALCS was a five game series 1969, but in 1985 it became a seven game competition.
