2016 UFC Schedule

Since the early 90’s, the Ultimate Fighting Championship has dominated the market earning the title of the largest mixed martial arts promotion company in the world. The UFC was originally started by Art Davie, a prominent advertising executive, and Rorion Gracie, a noted master of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. It took a while for the sport to get off the ground, but now sales of UFC tickets are more than boxing! The goal of the UFC was to find the “Ultimate Fighting Champion” through an innovative concept of producing tournaments with the best athletes. These skilled competitors would be trained in a vast array of disciplines spanning the spectrum of martial arts. The fighting styles include Karate, jiu-jitsu, boxing, kickboxing, grappling, wrestling, and sumo as well as other combat sports. The winner of the tournament would be crowned the champion of the world.

The early UFC tournaments ignored all traditional rules away and branded themselves as raw fighting. This proved to be a large selling point for many pay-per-view audiences. Nothing would be considered illegal; from hair pulling to head butts the combatants would endure it all in bloody conflicts. This resulted in the emergence of the UFC as a legitimate sporting event, dropping the “no holds barred” label, and carrying the banner of mixed martial arts. With more effective marketing, the UFC began to grow to new levels of popularity prompting charismatic and skillful stars such as Randy Couture and Tito Ortiz to emerge.

Popularity for the UFC has skyrocketed estimating the company to be worth over a billion dollars. One example of its dynamic allure to audiences was at UFC 129 which featured Georges St- Pierre vs Jake Shields at the Rogers Center in Toronto, Ontario. The event sold out 55,000 tickets for gate revenues exceeding 11 million dollars shattering previous MMA attendance and gate records in North America. Last year, on the eve of UFC 154, Dana White confirmed that the UFC will feature women’s MMA with the signing of its first female fighter, a move that will surely change the landscape of MMA. Under the strong leadership of owners Lorenzo Fertitta, Frank Fertitta III and President Dana White, the UFC brand continues to thrive across a spectrum of live event sports and television production.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) story is a long and grinding one, but UFC tickets, War MMA ticketsand MMA tickets, in general are now a commonly sought item for fans of live events. This is teeth-smashing, knuckle-bruising action, make no mistake about it; your tickets to UFC will put you through an adrenalin trip like no other. Once classed as "no holds barred", UFC now describes itself as Mixed Martial Arts, usually shortened to MMA. This new tag lends an element of respectability and provides some gloss on the raw animal aggression that fuels the sport. But once those guys are in the cage and the fists and feet are flying, there's no rules and everyone's fired up. Buy MMA tickets now and see this violent and savage spectacle for yourself. You won't be disappointed! With fighting styles that encompass boxing, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Tae Kwon Do, Wrestling, Muay Thai, Karate and many more, there is plenty of hard-hitting action for everyone!

UFC began as quest to find the world's toughest fighters with little or no regard for formal discipline. Initially, UFC earned much criticism from politicians, and spent some time lurking in the ill-lit corridors of obscurity, banished from pay-per-view TV. UFC's governing body was smart enough to recognize that this could be a huge sport, though. They effectively reworked its limitations, creating more defined rules and leaning more towards known fighting disciplines. Hence, MMA was born and UFC tickets began to sell like never before. The final piece in the jigsaw was being reinstated to pay-per-view TV, which gave the sport a huge boost back not the public eye. The political stigma was removed and UFC tickets were now considered tickets to a legitimate fighting event. UFC President Dana White has cemented this sport's status as a mainstream fighting league that may be surpassing boxing in popularity. Check out our upcoming UFC events below and catch a fight night. It will be worth every penny, as this sport has literally rose from nowhere to claim its spot in the limelight. Martial Arts will never be the same again!
