San Jose Sharks Schedule
Since hockey returned to the Bay Area in 1991, San Jose fans have been able to root for one of the most consistent teams in the NHL. The Sharks have made the playoffs in 17 of the franchise's 22 years of existence -- including 17 of the last 20 seasons, and 10 consecutive seasons. Though the Sharks have enjoyed plenty of regular season success, a trip to the Stanley Cup Finals has eluded them. Sharks captain Joe Thornton, along with Joe Pavelski, and the rest of the Sharks, will try to etch their names into San Jose's history books, and lead the Sharks to the Stanley Cup Finals this season!

The Sharks are led by captain Joe Thornton, who was acquired in a trade with the Boston Bruins in late 2005. Thornton was named San Jose's captain in 2010, and has been one of San Jose's best players during his tenure with his Sharks. San Jose has surrounded Thornton with exciting talent, such as Joe Pavelski, Patrick Marleau and Brent Burns. The Sharks also have one of the most exciting young players in the entire NHL in Tomas Hertl.
Though San Jose is a relatively new NHL franchise, the Sharks are not short on rivals. San Jose used to have an intense rivalry with the Detroit Red Wings, but realignment moved the Red Wings to the Eastern Conference -- and the two teams only square off twice a year. San Jose's most intense rivalry is currently with the Anaheim Ducks. The Sharks and Ducks are two of the best teams in the Western Conference, and share the Pacific division. There are few rivalries more intense than the Ducks-Sharks rivalry -- and fans are always in for a treat whenever they see the two teams take the ice against each other.
