Mamma Mia! Schedule
Mamma Mia! is nothing less than an international theatre phenomenon. It is no wonder that this show has been so successful since it is based on the music of Swedish pop supergroup ABBA. The show features 22 of their best songs, including "Dancing Queen," "S.O.S.," "Voulez-Vouz," "The Winner Takes it All," and, of course, "Mamma Mia." These hits are staged into fantastic production numbers and heartfelt, touching moments that make this show an exciting roller coaster ride. In tribute to the classic music, the flashy costumes and some of the groovy moves are reminiscent of the height of disco while other scenes are fresh and modern. Originally opening in London in 1999, Mamma Mia! has spawned productions in over a dozen countries all over the world, and has broken several records (including being ranked among the dozen longest running shows on Broadway). Its popularity surged when a movie adaptation starring Meryl Streep was released in 2008, and it is still going strong. Don't miss out on your chance to see this new classic; get your Mamma Mia! tickets today!
Mamma Mia! Plot Synopsis
Love is in the air as 20-year-old Sophie Sheridan is preparing to marry her fiancee, Sky, on the Greek island of Calicos. Though she loves her mother, Donna, dearly for raising her so tenderly over the years, she desperately wants her father to walk her down the aisle on her big day. There is just one big problem: she doesn't know who he is, and neither does Donna! So Sophie secretly sends invitations to three men she reads about in her mother's diary, hoping that one of them would turn out to be her long, lost father.
Meanwhile, Donna tries to keep up her hotel and prepare it for the wedding, with the help of her two old friends and bandmates, the serial divorcee Tanya and the spunky, carefree Rosie. The trio reminisces about their younger years as the pop group "Donna and the Dynamos" until they discover Donna's former suitors all roaming about the island. Sophie might not be the only lovebird by the end as romance, regret, and reunion characterize the wedding weekend.
