2014 Dodgers Outlook

Los Angeles Dodgers

The resurgent Los Angeles Dodgers won 92 games in 2013 and defeated the Atlanta Braves in the NLDS before falling to the St. Louis Cardinals in six games in the NLCS. Los Angeles' faithful fans came out in full force to support the Dodgers in 2013, as the Dodgers led Major League Baseball in attendance with 3,743,527 fans making their way to Dodger Stadium last season -- an average of 46,216 per game. Now with World Series expectations headed into the season, the Dodgers are likely to see attendance numbers rise once again in 2014. Make sure you head out to Dodger Stadium this year -- buy your Dodgers tickets at Ticket Liquidator today!

Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti didn't make a big splash this offseason. The Dodgers let second baseman Mark Ellis leave through free agency, and signed Alexander Guerrero out of Cuba to replace him. Los Angeles also let Ricky Nolasco sign with the Minnesota Twins, and replaced him with California native Dan Haren. Though neither move galvanizes Los Angeles' fan base, Colletti did make a major move that excites Dodgers fans around the world, signing Clayton Kershaw to a seven-year, $215 million contract.

Los Angeles' Opening Day lineup will feature many familiar faces. Adrian Gonzalez, Hanley Ramirez, Carl Crawford, Matt Kemp, Yasiel Puig, Juan Uribe and A.J. Ellis all project to start for the Dodgers in 2014. Veteran Andre Ethier may split time with Crawford in left field, giving the Dodgers a legitimate threat off the bench late in the game. Cuban sensation Alexander Guerrero is the only new addition to the lineup, and after watching Puig take the big leagues by storm last year, the Dodgers and Dodgers fans alike have high hopes for Guerrero. Though he's not as heralded as recent Cuban sensations Yoenis Cespedes and Puig, ZiPS projects Guerrero to be worth 2.3 WAR, and to hit .259/.324/.386.

Once again, Los Angeles' staff is anchored by reigning Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw went 16-9 last season for the Dodgers, with a microscopic 1.83 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, and struck out 232 batters in 236 innings pitched. Zack Greinke, Hyun-Jin Ryu, Dan Haren and Paul Maholm project to round out the starting rotation -- but don't be surprised if Josh Beckett sneaks his way into Los Angeles' rotation, if he can prove he's healthy. With Kershaw and Greinke atop Los Angeles' rotation, the Dodgers once again boast one of baseball's best rotations.

2014 Dodgers Schedule

The NL West isn't short on rivalries, and the Dodgers are right in the thick of the animosity. Los Angeles' powerful bats will be on display in the thin air of Coors Field this summer, when the Dodgers take on Troy Tulowitzki and the Colorado Rockies. The San Diego Padres have a young team and a solid farm system, and will attempt to dethrone the Dodgers atop the NL West. The Arizona Diamondbacks took umbrage when the Dodgers clinched the NL West last year, and celebrated by jumping in Arizona's pool at Chase Field. Many Diamondbacks players took exception to what they deemed an excessive celebration by the Dodgers -- and there may be retaliation in 2014. The San Francisco Giants are Los Angeles' arch rival, and the rivalry between the Dodgers and Giants is one of the best in all of sports. Don't miss out on your chance to catch the Dodgers take on their NL West rivals in 2014!

2014 Dodgers Interleague Schedule

Los Angeles' interleague schedule takes the Dodgers to Target Field, where Los Angeles will take on Joe Mauer and the Minnesota Twins on April 29, April 30 and May 1.The Dodgers will also head to Kansas City to take on the upstart Royals on June 23, June 24 and June 25. Los Angeles will take a rare trip to Comerica Park to take on Justin Verlander and the Tigers on July 8 and July 9. Dodgers fans in Southern California will get to see the Dodgers host the Tigers (April 8, April 9), White Sox (June 2, June 3, June 4) and Indians (June 30, July 1, July 2) this summer -- three teams that normally don't play at Dodger Stadium. As always, the Dodgers will take on the Los Angeles Angels in the Freeway Series, hosting Mike Trout and the Angels for two games on August 5 and August 6, before headed to Angel Stadium on August 6 and August 7.

About Dodger Stadium

The Dodgers will once again call the iconic Dodger Stadium home in 2014. Dodger Stadium opened in 1962, and with a capacity of 56,000, Dodger fans can pack Chavez Ravine nightly, to give the Dodgers a major home field advantage. Besides hosting the Dodgers 81 times per season, Dodger Stadium has hosted many major musical acts, including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Depeche Mode, Bruce Springsteen and U2. Pope John Paul II celebrated Mass at Dodger Stadium in 1987. Dodger Stadium is more than just a baseball stadium -- it's an iconic venue that sports and entertainment fans alike should check out!
