The France national team has an interesting World Cup history. 2014 marks the 14th time that Les Bleus qualified for the tournament, but twice the French have missed consecutive World Cups (1970, 1974; 1990, 1994). France responded in a major way in 1998, winning the World Cup for the first-time ever. After being knocked out in the group stage in 2002, France advanced to the title game in 2006, but lost to Italy on penalty kicks.

Now in 2014, the French are ready to rise again. France's first World Cup match comes on June 15 against Honduras. France will then take on Switzerland on June 20, before wrapping up group play on June 25 against Ecuador.
