Dallas Stars Schedule

Founded in 1967 as the Minnesota North Stars, the Stars were among the first expansion teams in the NHL -- marking the end of the Original Six era. After financial troubles plagued the North Stars and Cleveland Barons both, the Gund Brothers purchased the North Stars and merged the Barons and North Stars -- keeping the team in Minnesota. After poor attendance plagued the North Stars, the team was sold and relocated to Dallas and became known as the Dallas Stars.

While in Minnesota, the Stars advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals twice (1981, 1991), but never managed to win the Stanley Cup. Once in Dallas, the Stars managed to win the Stanley Cup in only their sixth season in Texas.

After years as a major contender, the Stars fell on tough times beginning in 2008 -- failing to qualify for the playoffs in five consecutive seasons. Dallas, however, drafted well during that time -- and once again have a contender. Dallas clinched a playoff spot after finishing the season with 91 points during the 2013-14 season -- Lindy Ruff's first season as Dallas' head coach.

Stars fans should get out to the American Airlines Center this season and experience the thrill of Stars hockey in person! Check out Dallas' schedule and buy your Stars tickets today!
