About Bon Jovi

John Francis Bongiovi was a New Jersey teen when he first formed a band with friend David Bryan Rashbaum. The two recorded in the NYC Power Station recording studio run by Bongiovi's cousin and were exposed to members of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band. Dave Sabo joined on guitar with bassist Alec John Such and drummer Tico Torres to complete the lineup. The band recorded a demo, and Bon Jovi tickets sold to local clubs until they were signed to PolyGram records changing Bongiovi to John Bon Jovi; Richie Sambora later replaced Sobo.

Bon Jovi's eponymous album debuted at number 34 and produced hit "Runaway" and "She Don't Know Me" which sold more than 2 million copies and tons of Bon Jovi concert tickets to boot. After an extensive Bon Jovi tour, Bon Jovi brought in composer Fesmond Child, who polled local NYC and NJ teenagers on their music preferences- Slippery When Wet was the result. Selling over 12 million copies and produced hits "You Give Love a Bad Name," "Living on a Prayer" and "Wanted Dead or Alive." Tickets to Bon Jovi went on sale for one of the band's most successful tours to date, the "Slippery When Wet" tour.

Slippery When Wet was followed by New Jersey released in 1988 yielding hits - "Bad Medicine," "Born to Be My Baby," "I'll Be There For You," "Lay Your Hands on Me" and "Living in Sin," all reaching top 10 spots on U.S. charts. Bon Jovi tickets when on sale for an 18-month Bon Jovi tour which would prove to be taxing on the band spawning a period of solo albums and breakups. When the band reunited in 1991, they continued to record albums, yielding four 10 top tracks- "Bed of Roses," "Always," "Keep the Faith" and "These Days." After Bon Jovi tickets sold out for an extensive Bon Jovi tour, the band went on hiatus.

John Bon Jovi went on to star in multiple movies and released a few solo albums. In the interim, Richie Sambora released two solo albums. Bon Jovi reunited in 1999 for the record Real Deal for the EdTV soundtrack. In 2000, Crush was released and the hit single "It's My Life" brought back Bon Jovi's anthem rock sounds- sparking interest in Bon Jovi that far surpassed their hair band days. Bon Jovi tickets for the following tour were almost instantly sold out.

After an extensive tour, Bon Jovi went back to the studio and produced Bounce and changed their image for an edgier look. Since then, Bon Jovi has released 5 more studio albums, a box set and collaborated with members of Sugarland. 100,000,000 Bon Jovi fans cannot be wrong, so check out these legends of hard rock live!
