Morrissey Tour Schedule
Morrissey is going on tour starting in late October in support of his new album Low in High School dropping in November.
Described by NME as "one of the most influential artists ever," Steven Patrick Morrissey, an unlikely product of Manchester's macho streets, captured the world's imagination with his camp rebellion as singer of The Smiths. While the rest of England basked in the shallow noise created by Wham! and Michael Jackson's moonwalk, Morrissey industriously churned out a line of classics like an industrial revolution era factory worker with a vengeance. The Smiths represented a new level of cerebral rock, with frequent political statements to accompany singles like "This Charming Man" and "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now".
Whenever the mayhem and hedonism of the Madchester era is discussed, it's impossible not to mention Morrissey. The drama king who as a teenager lived on a steady diet of TV soaps, bequeathed 50s rockers and female singing stars from Swinging London had a voice - a unique voice that earned him the highest accolades. The irony is that Morrissey was never part of the Madchester scene; if anything he transcended it. Morrissey tickets are not tickets to nostalgia. They're tickets to concerts that lay bare the horrid reality of neurosis and joy, the manic ride of youth. If you know anything about this man, you'll want to see him live. Morrissey live on tour is a phenomenon that won't be around forever. He's the one who has spoken out against world figures like George W. Bush, Tony Blair, Margaret Thatcher and the Royal Family. More recently, he joined ex-Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr in forbidding British Prime Minister David Cameron from liking the Smiths, stating that his overt vegetarianism is in clear opposition to Cameron's stag-hunting activities. Buy tickets to Morrissey here and be transported into the kitchen sink drama and reservoir sunsets of the man with the Irish blood and English heart.
