Hugh Jackman returns to Broadway in Jez Butterworth's latest play, The River, as the unnamed lead, The Man. Seemingly romantic at the outset, Jackman’s character embarks on a wooden cabin getaway with his girlfriend for a few days of rural night-fishing. However, upon arrival, tension slowly emerges as the woman goes missing and then re-appears as another, creating a mysterious thriller that is either supernatural or psychological. Butterworth's clues throughout the play are suspenseful and dark, and as the plot unfolds The River speaks to the feral side of humanity. It's one of Broadway's most talked about plays so get tickets to The River and see it in person.
