About Roger Waters

Roger is a passionate supporter of Arsenal Football Club, a soccer team based in London, England. Roger co-founded the legendary band, Pink Floyd, but has since fashioned a successful solo career with Roger Waters tickets being some of the best-selling tickets in rock and roll history. His work has often been influenced by a deep mistrust of government fueled by the death of his father while on military duty when Roger was just one year old. Together with Syd Barrett, Richard Wright and Nick Mason, Roger formed Pink Floyd in 1965. After Barrett left the band a few years later, Roger became the creative force of the group, writing or co-writing the majority of the songs. David Gilmour also joined the group to replace Barrett. Pink Floyd would be moderately successful until the release of "Dark Side of the Moon (1973)," their sixth studio album and one of their most successful studio releases to date. "The Dark Side of the Moon" stayed on the Billboard 200 for 771 straight weeks from 1973 to 1988 remaining the longest standing album on the charts in history. Roger Waters has been credited with composing the lyrics for each song on the album; Roger Waters tickets quickly sold out back in 2006 when the artist went on a Roger Waters tour playing each track from "The Dark Side of the Moon" in full.

Roger Waters is also credited with writing most of the band's ninth studio album The Wall (1979). The Wall is a rock opera loosely based on Roger Waters' life and is currently one of the best-selling albums of all time. Several years of success followed, but eventually the band dissolved because of internal disputes with Roger Waters stating that Floyd was "a spent force creativity." In the history of Pink Floyd, the band has released fourteen studio albums, all of which have achieved top ten status. The band received many awards including an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 and a technical "Best Engineered Non-Classical Album" Grammy in 1980. Roger has since played a few gigs with some of his old bandmates, including a show with Wright, Mason and Gilmour at Live 8 in 2005. Roger Waters solo career began with the launch of The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking in 1984, the album went gold. He followed up with Radio K.A.O.S. in 1987 - Roger Waters tickets would soon sell out for the KAOS North American Roger Waters tour and has been considered the largest and most extravagant Roger Waters tour to date.

One of Waters' most notable performances would come in the form of The Wall: Live in Berlin shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Roger Waters tickets to The Wall: Live in Berlin also included Joni Mitchell, Cyndi Lauper, Van Morrison, and Sinead O'Connor. In total, Roger Waters has released three original solo albums.
