College football playoffs are where the best of the best play until the whistle to determine which team is the National Champion. Bowl games and playoffs are traditions in college football. Two Bowl games represent the two semi-final games each year. The winner of those two face off in the National Championship game. In addition to those three games, 39 other Bowl games are being played this year; the most iconic ones are close to or on New Years.
This 2016-2017 season, the semifinal games were played on December 31st - one at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia, and one at the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Alabama took the Washington Huskies in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, and Clemson won the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl. The National Championship game is scheduled for January 9th at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
