Sam Hunt Tour Schedule
Sam Hunt is hitting the road for a summer tour titled "15 in a 30 Tour" from June to early September 2017. Stops include Detroit, Miami, San Diego, and, of course, Nashville. Openers include Maren Morris and Chris Janson. Hunt has not released an album since 2014's Montevallo, so hopefully this tour is a hint of an upcoming album in 2017.
About Sam Hunt
Before Sam Hunt rose to fame, he pursued a career in football playing at Middle Tennessee State University and two years at the University of Alabama. Sam Hunt was the starting QB for UAB in 2006 and later was invited to the Kansas City Chiefs training camp. Injury plagued Sam Hunt's football career and he decided to pack up and move to Nashville, TN to start a career in music in 2008. The singer-songwriter got his start writing hits like "Come Over" for Kenny Chesney. Sam Hunt is also credited with writing singles for Keith Urban and Billy Currington. Influenced by country music star Brad Paisley, his music contains large elements of country, R&B, and pop that gives Sam Hunt a unique and new sound that quickly brought him to the top of the country music scene.
In 2014, Sam Hunt signed with MCA Nashville records and later that year released the single "Leave the Night On," which made it to the No. 1 spot on the Country Airplay reaching platinum status with 1.65 million certified downloads. Montevallo include many radio hits for the country star including "Raised On It," "Break Up in a Small Town," and more. Later that year it was announced Sam Hunt would be the opening act for Lady Antebellum's "Wheels up Tour." Sam Hunt is the first artist in 22 years to reach the top of three country charts at the same time since Billy Ray Cyrus. The following year Sam Hunt announced his first headlining tour, "Lipstick Graffiti," which sold out 15 venues with minutes of going on sale.
In 2017, Hunt appeared back on the airwaves after years of no new releases since the extremely successful Montevallo. He dropped two singles "Drinkin' Too Much" and "Body Like a Back Road" and announced his "15 in a 30 Tour" this summer. An album is surely to follow in 2017, as well.
