No one but Perry Ferrel of Jane's Addiction could pull off a falsetto while maintaining their hard core persona, and Jane's Addiction injected a unique spin onto the alternative rock scene. After two dramatic breakups, Jane's Addiction reunited and joined Nine Inch Nails on the Ninja tour and now Perry and the boys are back playing Jane's Addiciton tour dates!

Jane's Addiction and Nine Inch Nails (2008 - 2010)

Jane says that Jane's Addiction has reunited and this time, Nine Inch Nails will help support them on a US tour this summer with Street Sweeper's Tom Morello. Trent Reznor of NIN had this to say about his pairing with Jane's Addiction - "Emails were sent, phone calls were made, dinner was arranged, ideas were discussed and the next thing I know we're in the studio experimenting...we laugh, we get to know each other, we cry, we yell, we almost quit, we record LOTS of guitar solos, we discuss, we actually begin to all communicate, we yell some more, we become FRIENDS, we laugh again and we do some great things. I get to see first-hand why they broke up all those years ago but I also get the chance to see four distinct personalities that become an INCREDIBLE band when they're in the same room."

It's hard to believe that a group with only three studio albums to their name could make such a great impact on the direction of modern rock. At a time when grunge was taking the front seat the glam metal, Jane's Addiction busted onto the scene with their own brand of Los Angeles alt-rock. Forming in 1985, singer Perry Ferrell, former member of Psi-com, and bassist Eric Avery joined forces after bonding over obsessions with Joy Division and The Velvet Underground. Drummer Stephen Perkins and Dave Navarro joined the crew after a jam session initiated by Avery's sister. Jane's Addiction tickets sold out immediately in clubs around Los Angeles, sparking the interest of some small and not-so-small record labels- Jane's Addiction signed to Warner Bros in 1987.

Jane's Addiction's musical style cannot be summed up to a single genre- alternative rock, gothic rock, psychedelic funk and punk rock get equal exposure at a Jane's Addiction concert. After a long Jane's Addiction tour with Love and Rockets in 1987, Jane's Addiction recorded their first studio album Nothing's Shocking. Carrying a controversial cover and turning off 9 of 11 major distributers, Nothing's Shocking churned out cult favorites "Mountain Song" and "Jane Says," which would become popular as a track off of the 1997 Kettle Whistle live album. Jane's Addiction tickets went on sale that year for their tour along with Iggy Pop and The Ramones. Beginning as openers, the band ended the tour headlining shows in the LA area.

With Jane's Addiction concert popularity on the rise, Jane's Addiction was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/ Metal Performance Vocal or Instrumental in 1989. Tensions between band members were already set in place as Ferrell demanded 60 percent of profits for the whole band during the production of Nothing's Shocking. As a result Ritual de lo Habitual was recording in intervals, with Avery and Farrell recording their parts separately. "Stop!" and "Been Caught Stealing" would drive even more fans to buy Jane's Addiction tickets for their following tour and Lollazpalooza festival with Nine Inch Nails.

The band began to physically fight onstage on Jane's Addiction tours during their Lollapalooza stint. Afterward, Ferrell and Perkins broke off to form Porno for Pyros and Nevarro joined the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1993. In 2001, band members, excluding Avery, were brought in for the Jane's Addiction reunion tour aptly named Jubilee. With scantily clad ladies, penny rafters and all sorts of circus fair, the success of the tour brought Jane's Addiction back into the studio. Strays released in 2003, would result in the single "Just Because" being featured on HBO's entourage. After another extensive Jane's Addiction tour, the band broke up for the same reasons they broke up in 1991 according to Navarro.

Five years later the band would reunite with all original members (something that hadn't be in effect since 1991) during the first ever NME awards. Jane's Addiction tickets went on sale for a secret concert at the El Cid in LA and Trent Reznor put Jane's Addiction photos up on his website. Shorty afterward, Reznor announced the NIN/JA summer tour, with Jane's Addiction tickets on sale in the near future. So it's here folks, the reunion to witness among the slew of reunions happening this year. That’s right, buy cheap Jane's Addiction tickets and get yourself a piece of Jane's Addiction live!
