Formed in Akron, Ohio, in 2001, The Black Keys are a blue-rock duo comprised of Dan Auerbach (guitar, vocals) and Patrick Carney (drums). The duo's first album was released in 2002, titled The Big Come Up.

The Black Keys broke into the mainstream in 2010, when they released "Tighten Up," a single off of their sixth album, Brothers. "Tighten Up" reached No. 1 on the U.S. Rock and U.S. Alternative charts, and reached No. 87 on the Billboard Hot 100. Subsequently, "Lonely Boy," and "Gold on the Ceiling" reached No. 1 on the U.S. Alternative charts.
