Wesleyan University is known for churning out some great artists, take MGMT for instance, but nothing can compare to some good ole' Santigold. Formerly named Santogold, Santigold was born Santi White in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. She initially worked behind the scenes of the music industry before branching out to sing for the punk band Stiffed. After two years with the band Santigold was offered a solo contract under the name Santogold through Lizard King Records (think The Killers) and her two singles "Creator" and "L.E.S. Artistes" became internet phenomenon's in 2007.Santigold concerts, or Santogold concerts, spread throughout the US and Europe - her sound transcended through rock, new wave, electronica, dub and post punk making Santigold tickets that much more valuable. Her eponymous record, Santogold, was released in April 2008 and she was named "an artist to watch" by Spin, BBC and Rolling Stone Magazine. Santigold tickets have included headliners M.I.A., Bjork and Coldplay. In 2008 Santigold tickets sold for her first headlining tour before heading out on the road with Kanye West and Jay-Z.
