About Scorpions

What band is more anthemic than Scorpions? Originating in Hanover Germany in 1965 , the group took off when founding member Rudolf Schenker recruited brother Michael Schenker and vocalist Klaus Meine in 1969. Their debut album, Lonesome Crow, was released in 1972 and shortly after, Scorpions tickets went on sale for a tour opening for UFO (which Michael would join permanently soon after). The world would then succomb to hard rock fever, and Scorpions would be the only cure.

However, after Michael's departure the band dissolved only to be revived with a new lineup featuring Rudolf Schenker, Uli Roth, Francis Buchholiz, Achim Kirschning and Jurgen Rosenthal. Scorpions would hit a few bumpy roads and lineup changes along the rise to fame, but one thing is for certain - Scorpions tickets were always in high demand. Scorpions' second studio album, Fly to the Rainbow, acheived even more commercial success. After releasing three more studio albums, Scorpions would sign to Mercury Records in the US and release "Lovedrive," one of their most successful albums to date, in 1979. The album heralded comparisons to Van Halen and is on Imagine Games Network's list of Top 25 Metal Albums. The following Scorpions tour sold out of Scorpions tickets almost immediately.

Just a few years later in 1984, "Rock You Like a Hurricane," "Bad Boys Running Wild," "Big City Nights" and "Still Loving You" would be some of the hottest videos on MTV - "Love at First Sting" would be their signature album. Scorpions tickets were so popular for the "Love at First Sting" Scorpions tour that the band decided to record their second live album during Scorpions concerts that year. In 2009, the band received the ECHO Honorary Award for lifetime achievement and released what they have claimed to be their last album ever - "Sting in The Tail" in March 2010, the album debuted at number 2 on Billboard Rock charts.
