Bryan Adams is on tour this summer 2018 through 2019. See Adams live!
Born in 1959 in Toronto, Ontario, Adams began singing in bands like Shock and Sweeney Todd at 16. On one fateful day in 1978, he met songwriter Jim Vallance, and the two have been working together ever since.
Adams' self-titled 1980 debut was certified gold in Canada in 1986, and his third album Cuts Like a Knife was Adams' breakout album with lead singles "Straight from the Heart," which reached number ten on the Billboard Hot 100 and "Cuts Like a Knife," which charted at number 15. The album peaked at number eight on the Billboard 200 album chart and went three times platinum in Canada, platinum in the United States, and gold in Australia.
Adams' best-selling album, Reckless, peaked at number one on the Billboard 200 after its release in 1984 and featured the singles, "Run to You," "Summer of '69," "Heaven" and "It's Only Love," a duet with Tina Turner. "Heaven" became the most successful single, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The album is Adams' best-selling album in the United States and was certified five times platinum.
Adams' 1991 album Waking Up the Neighbours featured "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You," which was featured in the movie Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. The single topped the charts around the world, spending a record-breaking 16 consecutive weeks at number 1 on the UK Singles Chart and achieving record-breaking sales in the U.S. The song earned Adams a Grammy Award in 1991 for Best Song Written Specifically for a Motion Picture or for Television.
Adams has been touring, producing albums and writing songs for three decades, and Bryan Adams concerts are a great time. 2010's Bare Bones, a compilation of his greatest songs, has been certified gold in India. Adams also is dedicated to his foundation "The Bryan Adams Foundation," which aims to advance education and opportunities for children worldwide. Adams has also had his photographs published in British Vogue, L'uomo Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Esquire, Interview magazine and many more.
His awards include 20 Juno Awards, a Grammy Award and two Ivor Novello Awards for composing songs. Adams received the 2,435th star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame in March 2011 and Canada's Walk of Fame in 1998. He was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2006 and ranked 38th on the list of All-Time top artists by the Billboard Hot 100 50th Anniversary Charts.
