Grease is one of the best-known America musicals ever written. Created in 1971 by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, it centers on the fictional Rydell high school and its students dealing with growing up in the 1950s. After its Broadway premiere in 1972, the now-iconic film starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John was released in 1978. Over the years, there have been revivals and productions all over the world. It remains one of the most often staged musicals in theatres of all sizes.
The original score of Grease includes favorites like "Summer Nights," "Greased Lightning," "Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee," "We Go Together," "It's Raining on Prom Night," "Born to Hand Jive," "Beauty School Dropout," and "There are Worse Things I Could Do."
