About ZZ Top

ZZ top is an American rock band that formed in the late 60's in Houston, TX. The band is made up of three members performing a variety of blues, boogie, and hard rock. On top of that they are known for mixing in new wave, punk rock, dance rock, and synthesizers to create a unique and original sound. ZZ Top has sold over 50 million albums worldwide. Their biggest album came with the 1983 release of Eliminator, selling more than 10 million records in the United State alone.

Current ZZ Top Members:

  • Billy Gibbons - Guitar, Vocals
  • Dusty Hill - Bass, Keyboards, Vocals
  • Frank Beard - Drums, Percussion

Previous ZZ Top Members:

  • Lanier Greig - Bass, Organ
  • Dan Mitchell - Drums

ZZ Top has had the same line-up for over 40 years! Since the mid-1970s when they hit their peak, ZZ Top tickets have been pleasing concert-goers for decades. Career-making classics like "Legs," "Sharp Dressed Man," and "Give Me All Your Lovin’" off their most popular album, Eliminator, only sound better with age. Tight-knit and never out of tune with one another, ZZ Top is still in top form.

ZZ Top were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 and are the subject of a tribute album featuring covers by Nickelback, Kid Rock, and the Foo Fighters. Billy Gibbons appears regularly on the Fox detective drama Bones, and the band recently released a new album with legendary producer Rick Rubin titled La Futura. In support of their most recent album, 2012's La Futura, ZZ Top is embarked on their 2015 Winter Tour. The band had planned on playing ZZ Top tour dates with Jeff Beck during the summer of 2014, but had to postpone multiple shows due to a hip injury Dusty Hill sustained after a fall on the ZZ Top tour bus. However, Dusty is recovering well, and the band put on an epic round of concerts.
