Professional Bull Riders, Inc. is made up of more than 800 international professional bull riders. It is based out of Pueblo, Colorado and members are from the United States, Canada, Brazil, Australia, and Mexico. The organization started in 1992, with 21 professional bull riders. It has now grown and has over 300 events each year. Riders are accustomed to working with bulls up to 2,000 pounds.
PBR will start their tour in January and compete through October with more than 30 PBR events around the country. After that the 2017 PBR World Finals will begin. The PBR World Finals are taking place this year from October 23 until the 27 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Thomas and Mack Center. It will feature the top 35 bull riders in the world and there will be six rounds of competition. The PBR rider with the highest combined score for each round wins. Riders are judged based on their performance after trying to stay on the bull for at least eight seconds. The bull’s performance is also judged. The winner of the PBR World Finals receives the World Champion buckle as well as over $2 million in cash prizes.
