About Tori Amos

Tori Amos is a pianist and singer-songwriter. She has received eight Grammy nominations and won a scholarship to John Hopkins University's Peabody Institute at the age of just five. Years later, after developing her skills and sending out tapes to record labels, Atlantic Records signed her. After a short stint in her band Y Kant Tori Read under Atlantic Records, Amos broke out into her solo career that garnered much more success for her. Her debut solo album Little Earthquakes delves into her sexual assault, religious upbringing, and many more heavy topics that shaped Amos into the woman she was by her late twenties.

By the late '90s, her albums focused on other deeper content such as her marriages, miscarriages, and other big plot points of her life. She then fulfilled her contract with Atlantic and switched to Epic Records, releasing most notably Scarlet's Walk about her alter ego Scarlet that explored broader American topics around the time of 9/11. Other albums followed, but by the end of the first decade of the new millennium, she broke off with Epic and joined Universal's Republic Records. She continued to release albums, though some were limited releases.

Her latest album Native Invader drops this year, and she is touring in support of the album.
