In preparation for the release of the sequel to the seminal Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Crown Archetype is set to publish the autobiography of the star. Let Me Off at the Top!: My Classy Life and Other Musings, written by Ron Burgundy, is in bookstores on Tuesday, November 19. The Tell-All Autobiography fills readers in on the life story of the award winning news anchorman and poet and follows on the heels of a marketing campaign that has seen Burgundy as the face of Dodge's fall automobile line and the release of "Scotchy, Scotch, Scotch," Burgundy's Ben & Jerry's flavor as well as the historic "Anchorman: The Exhibit" at the Newseum in Washington DC.

Ron Burgundy’s Let Me Off at the Top!: My Classy Life and Other Musings Let Me Off at the Top!: My Classy Life and Other Musings the autobiography of Anchorman Ron Burgundy, goes on sale on Tuesday, November 18.

Let Me Off at the Top!: My Classy Life and Other Musings "a shockingly candid and raw confessional from a national treasure" promises to fill readers in on Burgundy's rise to the local news anchor upper echelons, beginning with his years at Our Lady Queen of Chewbacca High School. On his way to the top, Burgundy encountered some of the world's most influential people, including "celebrities, presidents, presidents' wives, celebrities' wives, dogs... Walter Cronkite, Barbra Streisand, Katie Couric, the list goes on."

Toronto's The Globe and Mail released an excerpt from the book, in which Burgundy waxes on America's ugly baby epidemic (If women are going to keep having these gross little meatballs I think we need to start thinking about social engineering of some kind.…), college ( You don’t need college to lay tar on a roof. Is there a better job than laying tar on a roof ? You play around with hot tar, you’re outside with your buddies cracking dirty jokes ... Here’s what college will get you: a sad, lonely, competitive longing for unattainable goals and a deep anxiety about impending failure and finally death.) and Canada (Being awake in Canada offers nothing more than watching the sands of your own mortality pass through the hourglass until it is empty.)

Here is some of the advanced praise for Let Me Off at the Top!:

  • This may well be the most thrilling book ever written, by a man of great physical, moral and spiritual strength and not surprisingly a great literary talent as well.
  • "This book deserves a real shot at a Pulitzer Prize. In fact if it doesn’t win one then we will finally have proof that the Pulitzer is rigged."
  • "Ron Burgundy has taken the time to write a book. We owe it to him, as honest Americans, to read it."

And here is a book review, right from the horse's mouth:

With the release of the book, Burgundy adds book-writing to his ever-growing list of talents, which already include anchormaning, flute playing and collecting of fine leatherbound manuscripts. Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues is set to be released on December 20, 2013. Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy was released in 2004.
