About Washington Wizards Tickets

Founded in 1961 as the Chicago Packers, the Washington Wizards have quite the jumbled history. The Packers changed their name to the Chicago Zephyrs after just one season -- but weren't long for Chicago, as the Zephyrs moved to Baltimore for the 1963-64 season, and became known as the Baltimore Bullets. After a decade in Baltimore, the Bullets moved to Washington D.C. where they were known as the Capital Bullets for one season, before re-naming themselves yet again to the Washington Bullets in 1974.

Washington's final name change came in 1997, when the team became known as the Washington Wizards.

The Wizards' history is unique. In addition to being the first modern NBA expansion team, and undergoing several name changes, the Wizards have had on-court success as well. The Wizards have gone to the NBA Finals on four occasions (1971, 1975, 1978, 1979), and were crowned NBA champions in 1978 -- the franchise's only title. Washington hasn't had much success recently, and the Wizards gained the most fame in in the last decade when NBA legend Michael Jordan returned from his second retirement, and signed with the Wizards. Jordan played two seasons for the Wizards, before retiring for a final time in 2003.

Now in 2018, the Wizards have a young talent base led by John Wall. It's a new era of basketball in Washington D.C., and the Wizards are ready to take the next step! Secure your Wizards tickets at Ticket Liquidator today!
