Universoul Circus Tickets

The Universoul Circus puts a whole new spin on the traditional circus experience. Since its debut in 1994, it has striven to display the talents of predominantly African American performers (although it is an all-inclusive experience) in an impressive variety show that features both familiar and innovative circus acts. It is an eclectic blend of theater, circus acts, and music from many genres including jazz, hip hop, Latin, gospel, R&B, and pop. At the center of the show is charismatic Ringmaster Tony Tone, an actor/comedian who has performed all across the country and shared the stage with the likes of Chris Rock and Jamie Foxx. His smooth style and quick wit set the mood of the show: fun, funky, and full of soul.

Among the more traditional acts are "CATS," featuring 6 white and 2 Bengal tigers performing tricks at the will of their skillful master, "High Wire," featuring daring performers maintaining their balance on a wire high overhead either using a balancing tool (umbrella, fan, etc...) or completely freehand, and "Teeterboard," in which a see-saw-like board propels acrobats and tumblers high into the air until the land on a mat, chair, or even another performer. "Comedy Trampoline" combines impressive acrobatics with hilarious movements in a twist on the usual act. The impressive "Jorge Barreda African Elephants" actually perform dance routines to popular contemporary songs, quite the feat for these 4-ton ladies.

International acts include the "Chinese Silks," 6 female and 4 male aerialists who perform high-flying synchronized routines to the music of Ne-Yo, at times balancing teacups on the tips of crystal wands, "Caribbean Entertainers," a spirited dance by showgirls, drummers, and stilt walkers, and "Chinese Checkers," a group of nine female acrobats who use drums and scarves to create a striking visual display.

Other Universoul signature acts include "Pampered Pooches," a group of precious puppies who perform energetic, synchronized routines that amaze audiences, and "Double Dribble/Above the Rim," an amalgamation of acrobatic dunking and other impressive basketball tricks. The acts are also updated often, and have included motorcycle daredevils, break dancing, clowns, and magical illusionists.
