Train Concert Tickets |
Train got their start in San Francisco in 1994 playing the melodic, sentimental rock that earned them worldwide recognition. Singer Pat Monahan, guitarist Jimmy Stafford and drummer Scott Underwood were just another hardworking bay area band when they cut their self-titled debut and their surprise hit Meet Virginia. The success of that single led to opening slots with Cracker, Hootie and the Blowfish, Counting Crows and Barenaked Ladies. From there the band started working with Bob Dylan/Neil Young producer Brendan O’Brien on their breakthrough follow-up Drops of Jupiter. The song Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me) was an unabashed success, winning the band hordes of followers, two Grammys and moving busloads of Train concert tickets. Train released two more albums before embarking on a three year hiatus to be with family and friends and take a break from the relentless series of Train tour dates. The band returned to their hometown of San Francisco to work on their most recent effort, 2009’s Save Me San Francisco. Those sessions yielded the hit tracks Hey Soul Sister, If It’s Love and Marry Me. Recently Train opened for Shakira in Bogota, Columbia and is on tour through September 2011 with Maroon 5.
