The Black Keys Announce El CaminoThe Black Keys never stop working. Following the critical and commerical success of the Grammy award-winning Brothers, Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney stayed right in the studio and produced their follow-up which they announced recently with a used car commercial peddling the infamous car their album is named after, the famed El Camino. The album cover and video strangely depict a car that is not the El Camino. What this bodes for the album is uncertain. The record was produced by Danger Mouse who collaborated with the Keys previously on the excellent Attack & Release and Brothers. The Black Keys' Tribute to Buddy HollySome of the biggest names in alternative and Indie rock recently wrapped a compilation of cover tracks paying homage to rock pioneer Buddy Holly. Fioina Apple and John Brion, Paul McCartney, Florence and the Machine, Cee-lo Green, She & Him, My Moring Jacket, Modest Mouse, Kid Rock, Lou Reed and many more joined The Black Keys on the tribute album titled Rave On. For their contribution, The Black Keys covered Holly's Dearest, a touching gesture to the artist who is now a million miles away. Black Keys tickets for Black Keys tour dates are available now. About The Black KeysWith six albums, years of touring and singles featured in movies, video games and television, The Black Keys are the poster children for thick, freaky rock for the 21st century. You’ll never hear a sound so loud and funky produced by one guitarist and one drummer. Vocalist/guitarist Dan Aurbach’s dark, crazy wail and pitch-perfect guitar licks guide you through a haze of smoke and mirrors complemented by drummer/producer Patrick Carney’s one-man rhythm section. These guys are tight. Formed in Akron, Ohio, in 2001, The Black Keys refined their sound in the Carney family basement before taking it on the road. The band released their breakthrough album Thickfreakness in April 2003. From the first chords of the album opener of the same name, you knew they were serious. The band’s third album, Rubber Factory, solidified their place in rock history with stand out single 10 A.M. Automatic and opening acts with Pearl Jam, Beck and Radiohead. The band’s fourth album featured the single Your Touch which played in the soundtrack to the 2009 Woody Harrelson horror-comedy Zombieland. On the Black Keys’ fifth album, Attack & Release, the band enlisted the help of genre-bending producer Danger Mouse who brought a fresh eye to the duo’s nostalgic rock, adding new dimensions to their signature sound. Following Attack & Release The Black Keys released Blackroc, a collaboration with hip hop artists Mos Def, RZA, Raekwon, Pharoahe Monch, Q-Tip and the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard to name a few. The Keys’ dense guitar and thunderous drums fit seamlessly into the dark, grittly, urban tableau. The band’s most recent full-length album Brothers earned them four Grammy Award nominations including Best Rock Song for Angry World and Best Rock Performance by a duo for their song Tighten Up, and spots on Rolling Stone’s and Spin Magazine's Best of Lists for 2010. Don’t miss out on your chance to witness this extraordinary rock duo! TicketLiquidator has your concert tickets to see these artists live. |
