What’s the best way to not feel like a foreigner out in the sticks this summer? Go see Foreigner and Styx on their Soundtrack of Summer tour! Eagles’ guitarist Don Felder will join Foreigner, and, together with Styx, they are touring the United States. Hailing from the same generation of music, they complement each other greatly. Attending the Soundtrack of Summer tour is a great opportunity to see two legendary bands who probably won’t be touring much longer. With more than 250 million albums sold combined, these classic rock legends are sure to put on a crowd-pleasing show. Styx and Foreigner launched the Soundtrack of Summer tour in Oklahoma City on May 16th at the Zoo Amphitheater.

Styx is an American band from Chicago whose style consists of a mixture between progressive and hard rock. Although they formed in 1961, their real success didn’t come until the mid-1970s and early 1980s. From 1977 – 1981 they released four consecutive multi-platinum albums, each selling at least 2 million copies – The Grand Illusion, Pieces of Eight, Cornerstone, and Paradise Theater. They are best known for their songs “Mr. Roboto,” “The Best of Times,” “Come Sail Away,” “Lady,” and “Renegade.”

Foreigner is one of the best-selling bands of all time with record sales totaling more than 80 million across the globe. The British-American rock band has a history that stretches back to 1976. Although the members have changed, their sound has been preserved. This, in large part, is due to the band’s passionate leader, Mick Jones, who is still a staple of Foreigner today. Foreigner found great success with their biggest hit, “I Want to Know What Love Is.” Other timeless songs include: “Feels Like the First Time,” “Head Games,” “Waiting for a Girl Like You,” “Juke Box Hero,” “Hot Blooded,” “Long, Long Way from Home,” and “Cold as Ice.”
