Steve Aoki has led a bit of a charmed life. Born in Miami, one of techno’s meccas, Steve moved to sunny Newport Beach, California, a short drive from the electronic hotbed of Los Angeles. As the son of Japanese Olympic wrestler and Benihana founder Rocky Aoki, Steve got an early glimpse behind the curtain of the entertainment business.

Since his debut album Pillowface and His Airplane Chronicles, Steve has established his own record label Dim Mak, named after the iconic Bruce Lee, and jumpstarted the careers of fellow musicians Bloc Party, The Kills and Klaxons.
