About Slightly Stoopid

Mellow surf-strummers Slightly Stoopid make the kind of music you want to chill out at the beach with. Reggae and ska influences seep in around the purple hazy edges to give their music a universally appealing quality, like that band you once saw on vacation and impulsively bought their CD from the dodgy hippies at the merch table in the back of the club.

Slightly Stoopid are of a slightly higher caliber than “that” band and have a list of jam partners that would make most musicians salivate. Slightly Stoopid tour dates have included jam sessions with The Roots, Dave Matthews Band, Damien Marley and the Marley Brothers, G. Love and Special Sauce, Snoop Dogg, Toots and the Mayhalls, Sublime, Ozomatli and Pennywise. Their 2005 album Closer to the Sun featured Jamaican dub legend Scientist.

Slightly Stoopid were discovered as teenagers in San Diego by Brad Nowell of Sublime and signed to his label while they were still in high school.
