San Antonio Spurs Playoff Tickets

Another year, another playoff appearance for the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs have made the playoffs every year dating back to the 1997-98 season -- Gregg Popovich's first year as head coach, and Tim Duncan's first year with the Spurs. Since then, the Spurs have won the NBA championship four times (1999, 2003, 2005, 2007), and have been consistently one of the NBA's elite teams. The Spurs fell painfully short in 2013, losing in seven games to the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals. Now in 2014, Duncan, Tony Parker and the rest of the Spurs are out to claim their fifth NBA championship. Don't miss your chance to see the Spurs continue to make NBA history -- buy your Spurs playoff tickets today at Ticket Liquidator!

The San Antonio Spurs were founded in 1967, and have a unique place in basketball history. The Spurs originally were members of the American Basketball Association, but joined the NBA in 1976, following the ABA-NBA merger. Though the Spurs never won an ABA championship, they are the only team from the ABA that has won an NBA title.

Since joining the NBA, the Spurs have missed the playoffs just three times in franchise history. Amazingly, the Spurs have won the NBA championship more times (four) than they have missed the playoffs entirely.

Naturally, the Spurs have developed rivalries over time. The Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets are Lone Star State rivals with the Spurs. All three Texas-based teams play in the Southwest division -- so there are plenty of chances for fans to get out to the arena and watch the rivalries intensify.

San Antonio also developed a rivalry with the Los Angeles Lakers in the early 2000s. The Spurs and Lakers' rivalry was fueled by both teams' dominance, as the Spurs won titles in 1999, 2003, 2005 and 2007, while the Lakers won the NBA championship in 2000, 2001, 2002 and again in 2009.
