Whether you consider them pop punk, alternative rock or Christian rock, Relient K has made a significant impact on the mainstream scene. Relient K began as a trio with Canton, OH residents Matt Theissen, Brian Puttman and Matt Hoopes in 1998. The first demo caught the attention of Toby Mac's Toby McHeehan who signed them to his label Gotee Records. After the release of their first eponymous album and a Relient K tour, Relient K experienced a dramatic lineup change. Relient K was characterized by heavy Christian influences and pop references, and Relient K tickets flew into the hands of adoring fans.

Relient K's second studio album, The Anatomy of Tongue in Cheek was released in 2001 and showcased the lighter side of Relient K. Relient K tickets were so hot that Relient K garnered the attention of clothing and movie execs landing them a track on the Veggie Tales soundtrack. Two years later, Relient K would be nominated for a Grammy in the Best Rock Gospel Album category for Two Lefts Don't Make a Right...but Three Do, which was released in 2003. Markedly faster-paced than their last album, Two Lefts brought Relient K ticket holders from all four corners to see Relient K live.

Since the release of Two Lefts, Relient K has released 2 studio albums - Mmhmm(2004) and five Score and Seven Years Ago(2007) and a double EP - The Bird and the Bee Sides(2008) with an album in the works for late 2009. Delving away from the playful pop punk of yore and into hardcore punk and piano rock sounds, Relient K has aged gracefully and in a short period of time.
