Portugal Schedule

Though never a traditional powerhouse, the Portugal National Team has emerged as a legitimate threat since the turn of the century in the soccer world. Portugal qualified for the World Cup twice between 1930 and 1998, but has since qualified for each of the last four World Cups, finishing as high as fourth place in 2006. Led by superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal is viewed as a legitimate contender in 2014.

Portugal will participate in two friendly matches held in the United States prior to the World Cup. Americans can watch Ronaldo in person at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts, when Portugal takes on the Mexican National Team in a friendly on June 6. Portugal will then take on the Ireland National Team on June 10 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, before headed to Brazil for World Cup play.
