Philadelphia Eagles History

With three NFL titles in the days between 1948 and 1960, the Philadelphia Eagles had a successful early life in the league. After those victories, sub-par performances kept the Eagles out of championship contention until 1981. Guided by coach Dick Vermeil, Philadelphia made it to Super Bowl XV, where they were defeated by the Oakland Raiders 27-10. During their run to the Super Bowl, Eagles playoff tickets became extremely hot.

Another mediocre period came to an end in 1988, when the great Randall Cunningham came into his own and remade the position of quarterback, offering a running threat in addition to his passing ability.
