Philadelphia Eagles infoWith three NFL titles in the days between 1948 and 1960, the Philadelphia Eagles had a successful early life in the league. After those victories, sub-par performances kept the Eagles out of championship contention until 1981. Guided by coach Dick Vermeil, Philadelphia made it to Super Bowl XV, where they were defeated by the Oakland Raiders 27-10. During their run to the Super Bowl, Eagles playoff tickets became extremely hot. Another mediocre period came to an end in 1988, when the great Randall Cunningham came into his own and remade the position of quarterback, offering a running threat in addition to his passing ability. Cunningham led the team in rushing from 1987 to 1990, rushing for over 1,000 yards and throwing 30 touchdowns in 1990. The Eagles faded again toward the end of the millennium, but are flying high again. With a cast of talented players and quarterback Donovan McNabb steering the team consistently into the playoffs, Philadelphia fans have something to cheer about. Those fans are turning to TicketLiquidator for their ticket needs, and they haven't been disappointed. It wont be easy, as they are facing some tough competition in the Giants and Redskins, but look for McNabb and the Eagles to soar above their troubles. Be sure to get your Eagles tickets soon and see them go for it all. Philadelphia Eagles NewsThe Philadelphia Eagles made every playoffs between 2000 and 2004, but in 2005 they were decimated by injuries and other issues, and finished 6-10 just a year after playing in the Superbowl, causing the team to miss out on lucrative Eagles playoff tickets sales. In 2006, the Eagles came screaming out of the traps, winning four of their first five games, but a mid-season downturn saw them 5-6. The Eagles finally got their act together in late November and won their last five regular season games, resulting in a shock NFC East division title. They were back in the playoffs, beating the New York Giants 23-20 at Lincoln Financial Field but the next game saw them beaten 27 -24 on the road at the New Orleans Saints. In the 2006 NFL Draft, the Eagles' first pick was Florida State defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley. The following pick was spent on Southern California offensive tackle Winston Justice. Among the rest of their picks were Tennessee linebacker Omar Gaither, Georgia guard Max Jean-Gilles, Colorado wide receiver Jeremy Bloom, California State Poly defensive end Chris Gocong, Michigan wide receiver Jason Avant, and Southern California defensive tackle LaJuan Ramsey. At summer training camp, the Eagles worked to wipe out the memory of that unpalatable 2005 season. Some Eagles players, such as Donovan McNab, reckoned the team could make the Superbowl, but the media were unresponsive, believing the Eagles could actually finish in the bottom spot in the tough NFC East division. All the more amazing then, that Philadelphia Eagles finished top of the division. Correll Buckhalter returned from two years out, injured on reserve, and the offensive and defensive lines were bolstered and thickened by new arrivals and new tactics. The so-called Terrell Owens saga largely revolved around criticism of the Eagles' failure to properly compensate their roster for the missing controversial wide receiver. A week left before the regular season began, they traded to land Donté Stallworth from the New Orleans Saints in exchange for linebacker Mark Simoneau. This also brought a conditional 2007 draft pick to look forward to. And the men from Lincoln Financial Field were ready to rumble. After their 4 out of 5 winning start to the 2006 season, the Eagles went down 27-24 to New Orleans Saints. There followed two more defeats, to the Tampa Bay Bucs, and the Jacksonville Jaguars, and before they were to beat the Washington Redskins 27 to 3 at Lincoln Financial Field in week 10. They were then beaten successively by the Tennessee Titans and eventual Champions Indianapolis Colts, before embarked on a five game winning spree, which took them all the way to the final game of the 2006 season, and into the NFC Wild Card Round, to face the New York Giants. They beat the Giants 23-20 at home, but were beaten by the same margin when they traveled to New Orleans and lost 27-24. The Eagles topsy-turvy season had ended, but they'd almost proved the critics wrong. There is no question that Philly Eagles fans got value for money last season, and Philadelphia Eagles tickets at Lincoln Financial Field will be in short supply for 2007. Anyone calling themselves a loyal Philadelphia Eagles fan will surely be filling the bleachers of Lincoln Financial Field, eager to prove the press wrong again, and maybe even make the Superbowl.
