About Pearl JamPeople have argued about which band popularized Seattle grunge in the early 90's and most have come to the conclusion that Pearl Jam made the largest impact in the scene. Pearl Jam's music was initially compared to the likes of Led Zeppelin and front man Eddie Vedder's voice has been likened to that of Jim Morrison's. Pearl Jam is notorious for consistently chosing to go against "traditional music industry practices" to the delight of fans around the globe. Fans of Pearl Jam are notorious for their devotion to the band, and spend a good deal of time scouring the net for Pearl Jam tickets. Fortunately, they can find cheap Pearl Jam tickets for sold-out shows right here. Pearl Jam began their saga at the base of the Seattle grunge scene when the band Mother Love Bone was mourning the death of singer Andrew Wood from a drug overdose in 1990. After a memorial CD was recorded, guitarist Stone Gossard, bassist Jeff Ament, guitarist Mike McCready, vocalist Eddie Vedder and drummer David Krusen formed the first inception of Pearl Jam- Mookie Blaylock. The name was soon changed to Pearl Jam. Pearl Jam initially rode off the fame of Mother Love Bone and was signed to Epic Records in 1991. Their first album, Ten yielded some of the band's most well-known hits to date - "Jeremy," "Alive" and "Even Flow." Krusen was replaced with Matt Chamberlain when Pearl Jam tickets went on sale for the Pearl Jam tour- the band opened for acts like Neil Young and U2. The band received further exposure when they did a Pearl Jam tour with Lollapalooza. Although the band was considered grunge, Pearl Jam had classic rock roots. Despite Pearl Jam's rising fame and the fact that Pearl Jam tickets were nearly sold out for each of the Pearl Jam tour dates, Vedder was having a hard time coping with the rock star lifestyle - He was arrested for public intoxication while their second studio album Vs. climbed to the top position. However, Pearl Jam cancelled Pearl Jam ticket sales for the Pearl Jam tour when Ticketmaster wouldn't lower their prices. A short time after, they released their second album Vitalogy which climbed to the number one spot despite the absence of band promotion. Over the next few years, Pearl Jam would replace it's drummer with Jack Irons and campaign for a handful of charities and causes, however, their 1996 release No Code plummeted down the charts within 2 months. Pearl Jam released the CD, Yield and went on their first arena Pearl Jam tour with Pearl Jam tickets selling out for each venue. Considered a comeback to Pearl Jam's more edgy rock style, Yield released hard rock hits like "Do The Evolution."Binaural, released in 2000 hit the top of the charts debuting at number 2. Following Binaural, Pearl Jam released 72 live albums between 2000 and 2001. After releasing the politically-charged Riot Act in 2000, a Pearl Jam tour followed selling Pearl Jam tickets to fans looking to see the impassioned band live. Since then, Pearl Jam has released a greatest hits album, has parted with Epic Records and signed with Sony BMG's J Records to release their first eponymous record to release "World War Suicide" which hit the number one spot soon after. In their nearly 20 year career, Pearl Jam has accrued nearly a dozen awards and 35 nominations ranging from the Grammys to the American Music Awards. Pearl Jam released their last album, Backspacer in the fall of 2009, having toured in 2008 and 2009, Pearl Jam returned to the stage on a 2010 Pearl Jam tour to support the album. Now they're back for 2011 Pearl Jam tour dates. The band that initially earned a reputation for being mainstream sellouts made a name for themselves working outside the box. Pearl Jam tickets aren't just passes to a great concert, they make you feel alive! |
