About the Show:

Winner of the 2011 Outer Critics Circle Award for Best New Off-Broadway Play, Other Desert Cities is a gripping story that is both shocking and funny, containing the kinds of exchanges that can only occur between family members who, though somewhat estranged, know each other all too well. Playwright Jon Robin Baitz, in addition to his stage work (A Fair Country, The Substance of Fire), has also written for such television shows as The West Wing and Alias, and he created the hit Brothers and Sisters, another example of his compelling insight into the nature of family. The critically acclaimed 2011 Broadway production of Other Desert Cities, which premiered at the Lincoln Center Theater on December 16, 2010, is directed by the talented Joe Mantello (Wicked, Assassins) and features a star-studded cast, including Stockard Channing (Grease, The West Wing, Pal Joey), Stacy Keach (American History X, Titus, Prison Break) and Judith Light (Who's the Boss?, Ugly Betty, Broadway's Lombardi). Plot Synopsis:

The Wyeth family has always been in the public eye. Father Lyman is a former actor and ambassador during the Reagan years; mother Polly is a former screenwriter; son Trip is the creator of a successful reality television show; and daughter Brooke is a novelist. As the somewhat estranged family members reunite over the Christmas holiday in Palm Springs, Brooke has come with the shocking news that she has written a candid memoir containing the family's deepest secrets. Throughout the reunion, the Wyeths collide over conflicting memories while Polly's alcoholic sister, Silda, goads Brooke even further.
