About the Show:

One Man, Two Guvnors is a new play by Richard Bean. It is an adaptation of the 1743 comedic play Arlecchino servitore di due padroni (Servant of Two Masters) by Carlo Goldoni. In the updated version, the action moves from 1700s Italy to 1963 Brighton, England.

The play premiered at London's National Theatre in June of 2011 to nearly uniformly positive reviews. The Guardian rated it with five stars, praising its artful use of visual and verbal comedy. After a successful West End run and UK tour in the summer and fall of 2011, a Broadway transfer was announced to open in April 2012. Plot Synopsis:

After being fired from his skiffle band (a type of music with jazz, blues, folk, and country influences, often played using homemade or improvised instruments), Francis Henshall takes a new position as the minder for Roscoe Crabbe, a local hood. But what he doesn't know is that "Roscoe" is actually his sister Rachel, who has been posing as her dead brother since her boyfriend, Stanley Stubbers, killed him. Meanwhile, Francis takes another job with Stanley, who is in hiding from the police and waiting to reunite with Rachel.
