About the Show:Next to Normal is truly innovative and one of Broadway's best original musicals--you'll want to get your Next to Normal tickets fast, because this show is a must-see. Earning 11 2009 Tony nominations and taking 3 (for Best Original Score, Best Orchestrations, and Best Leading Actress - Alice Ripley), it has experienced great success and has gained a cult following. It even won the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, becoming only the eighth musical in history to do so, and the first since Rent took the prize in 1996. The compelling story of a family dealing with a mother's mental illness combined with a thrilling rock soundtrack and powerful performances from the small yet energetic 6-person cast yield a unique and moving musical experience. Check out the Next to Normal schedule and get your tickets today! Plot Synopsis:The show opens on an "average" morning in the Goodman house. Mother Diana waits up late for her mischievous son (yet favored child), Gabe, and tries to calm down her stressed-out, overachieving daughter, Natalie. Father Dan joins them as Diana is making lunch, but when she begins preparing sandwiches from the table to the chairs to the floor, everyone recognizes it as the sign of another episode. Over the next several weeks, Dan and Diana make frequent trips for treatment, from a drug regimen to hypnosis to electro-shock therapy, but nothing seems to be working well enough. Meanwhile, Natalie struggles with feeling invisible to her parents while making her way through a rocky relationship with her free-spirit boyfriend, Henry, and experimenting with some "treatments" of her own. How long can the Goodman family hold together in the face of these challenges? Get your Next to Normal tickets right now to see just how long a family can hold out before it all falls apart.
