About Mumford and Sons

West London folk rockers Mumford and Sons appeared on the scene in 2007 with their EP Love Your Ground and made their name the old fashioned way, touring and playing intimate gigs in support of their music. The proverbial “Mumford Sons” of the band’s name allude to the intimacy of an old time family business and Mumford and Sons lyrics talk about love and loss in less comopicated times. Lead singer Marcus Mumford, keyboardist Ben Lovett, banjo player "Country" Winston Marshall, and bassist Ted Dwane are all talented, multi-instrumental vocalists who financed their debut EP Sigh No More out of pocket to avoid having to compromise with label execs.

BBC Radio 1 DJ Zane Low practically flipped over Mumford and Sons Little Lion Man calling it the hottest record in the world one evening on his show. Apparently he wasn’t alone.
