The Michigan Wolverines men’s ice hockey team represents the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Michigan Wolverines hockey program began in 1922 and is in its’ 90th season and the team currently plays in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. The Michigan Wolverines and Michigan State Spartans play an annual game at the Joe Louis Arena. In 2012, sixth-ranked Michigan defeated 17th-ranked Michigan State in overtime at the Joe Louis Arena.
