Michael Jackson Concert Tickets |
In the history of mankind, a large number of artists have tried to make it big and sadly, only a few have made the cut. Of those few, there is only a handful that have made an impact and changed the way people look at music- Michael Jackson is one of those people. With every direction that Michael takes, the world follows. He is a leader, a tastemaker and an innovator- to put it simply, Michael Jackson is Legend. Michael Jackson was born the seventh child of nine in 1958 to Joseph, a steel mill worker, and Katherine, a stay at home mom, in Gary, IN. Squeezed into a 2 bedroom apartment, music was their only saving grace . After months of tough, oftentimes abusive rehearsing under their father, The Jackson 5 was formed in 1964 when Michael was 5. Before hitting it big, the Jackson 5 extensively toured the Midwest, picking up gigs wherever they could on the "Chitlin Circuit" performing covers of Motown hits. They were signed to Motown records in 1968. Michael Jackson was described as a "prodigy" by Rolling Stone and the boys would go on to record their first four singles "I Want You Back," "The Love You Save," "ABC" and "I'll be There" which all peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. After five years with Motown, and four successful albums, the Jackson 5 broke their contract with Motown due to declining sales and a refusal to allow creative input from group members. After signing to Epic Records in 1975, the group was renamed The Jacksons and the following Jackson tour was a tremendous hit, performing songs like "Shake Your Body," Can You Feel It" and "This Place Hotel"- all written by Michael Jackson himself. The band made 6 albums on their new record label between 1976 and 1984. Michael made his film debut as the scarecrow in "The Wiz" alongside Diana Ross - Michael met Quincy Jones who was composing the score for the film during production. It was Quincy would encourage Michael to go solo, producing his first album "Off The Wall" in 1979- the album won Michael three AMA Awards, a Grammy and a Billboard Music Award. It was, however, Jackson's second album 'Thriller' that would have fans mimicking Michael Jackson's dance moves, and most importantly buying loads of Michael Jackson tickets. Possessing a US patent for the "anti-gravity lean," it's safe to say that Michael Jackson concerts employ some otherworldly dance numbers. Michael Jackson tours have been known to include signature dance moves like the moonwalk. In addition, Michael has been credited for changing the music video format into an art form rather than a taped concert- videos like "Beat It"" Billie Jean" and "Thriller" employed movie sequences, most of which he emulated at Michael Jackson Concerts. But what really sent people scrambling for Michael Jackson tickets was his unique and beautiful vocal style. Reaching high soprano sounds during the Jackson 5 era, Michael's voice transformed to high tenor- employing characteristic vocal hiccups, scats, spoken rap, growling and smooth falsetto. Michael Jackson tickets guaranteed a healthy mix of these techniques and much, much more. Michael Jackson has been described as a "blindingly gifted vocalist" and, with his collection of awards, he clearly has nothing to prove. During his four decade career, the King of Pop has made ten studio albums, a dozen compilation albums and close to thirty chart topping hits (13 at number one). Michael Jackson has won 13 Grammy Awards, including a "Living Legend Award," a 2x induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and a list of other awards so extensive, he has made the Guinness World Record for "Most Successful Entertainer of All Time." However, Michael has been out of the media spotlight for quite a while- fans believed that Michael Jackson tickets would never go on sale again. But a shimmer of light has broken through the dark horizon- Michael Jackson will definitely have concerts around the world in 2009 although the Michael Jackson tour 2009 is just speculation at this point. But rest assured that this page will have the most up-to-date Michael Jackson tour schedule, Michael Jackson news and Michael Jackson ticket information- so stay tuned!
